The Passeport Talent is now called the "talent" card. It is not one permit but a family of categories, each for a different profile, all valid for up to 4 years from the first application. Here is a short map to find yours.

For employees

  • Qualified employee. For graduates of a French master's, staff of innovative companies and employees moved within a group. Salary of at least €39,582 a year.
  • EU Blue Card. For highly qualified employees with a degree or solid experience. Salary of at least €59,373 a year, and a faster path to long-term residence.
  • Medical and pharmacy professions. For doctors, dentists, midwives and pharmacists with a post assignment, temporary practice rights or full authorisation to practise in France.
  • Researcher. For researchers and university teachers hosted by an approved institution.

For founders and investors

Other profiles

What they share

  • Up to 4 years from the first application.
  • No French test and no civic exam for the card itself.
  • The family comes with you, and the spouse can work.

Picking the wrong category is the most common reason a strong profile gets refused. If you are not sure which one fits, a short consultation is enough to check.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Passeport Talent still exist?

Yes, under a new name. Since the immigration law of 26 January 2024 it is the "talent" card, and existing cards stay valid until they expire.

Do I need to speak French to get a talent card?

No. French becomes a condition later, for the 10-year resident card (B1) and citizenship (B2).

Two ways to move forward

Find the right category. If you want to know which talent card fits your profile and project, book a consultation.

Have the application handled. If you want the whole file prepared, describe your situation and you will receive a proposal for full assistance.
